Social Housing
Our first social housing development for a site in Milton Keynes left the drawing board to be started on site in 1994 and from that small initial step, we have expanded the work so that social housing now forms a high proportion of our turn over.
We have done and continue to do a lot of work with Contractors on a Design and Build basis where the need for clarity and efficiency is paramount in bringing sites forward for construction.
We also have expanded the opportunities we have for operating directly with Associations and RSLs working with them to bring sites forward or in redeveloping out of date assets. The working arrangements can take the form of partnering frameworks or simply on a site-by-site basis.
Cow Lane, Edlesborough
Cow Lane, Edlesborough – A development of ten social houses as part of a larger residential site on the edge of Edlesborough. The houses consist of two and three bed accommodation and are designed as ‘tenure blind’ houses to ensure integration into the new housing and the village.
Completed: 2017
Gosford Farm, Kidlington
A mixed development of flats and houses from 1 bed up to 4 beds, all as social housing. The site sits outside the urban area of Kidlington as an exception site.
Contractor: McCann Homes Ltd
Client: Sanctuary Housing Association
Linley Court, St Albans
Linley Court, St Albans – a development of 24 one and two bed flats, spread over four storeys within a simple, contemporary styled block. The flats are of masonry construction with a lightweight framed structure forming the third floor to reduce the bulk of the building.
Completed: 2020
Bardon Green, Aylesbury
A development of 10, 1 bed flats on land previously used for garaging and car parking. Part of the site was retained as parking for the local residents.
Contractor: Jarvis Contracting Ltd
Client: Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust
