Welcome to Bob Harrington Design

BHD was formed by Bob Harrington in 1991 as a Practice initially specialising in speculative housing, after a career of 20 years in the design & management of developments for several housing Developers.

The early work of the Practice concentrated on this strength and involved several large projects in and around Milton Keynes where relationships were established with the CNT (now English Partnerships) and Developers keen to work in the area, notably Tay Homes and McCann Homes. The project work ranged from single bespoke houses through to major grid square projects of around 250 houses each.

As the Practice has grown the breadth of work has increased to encompass commercial developments, conversions of older properties and work with Housing Associations on a variety of "Design & Build" housing projects. We have also been able to cultivate a sound working relationship with many of the Local Authorities in the region, which we can use for the benefit of our Clients.

BHD became a Limited Company in 2003 and has continued to grow its workload and Client base. We are currently working on some 25 - 30 projects as far afield as Wales and Leicester, ranging from single houses up to a major special needs school.

Our philosophy for the Practice when it was formed was to be able to offer a multi disciplined portfolio of services, which could be responsive to the needs of any particular development, using specialists where specialists were needed. To achieve this we have cultivated excellent working relationships over the years with other Consultants in a variety of disciplines so that all aspects of the development process can be fully addressed.
